History

Our History

The story of Groupement d’Employeurs Le Nard is a story of collaboration, vision, and dedication to rural development. Our association was established to address a pressing need in the agricultural sector: providing flexible, secure, and legally compliant employment solutions for farms in Plougastel-Daoulas and surrounding areas.

Historically, small and medium-sized farms faced significant challenges in hiring labor. Seasonal demands, fluctuating workloads, and administrative complexities often created gaps in workforce availability and financial or legal risks for farmers. Recognizing this challenge, local agricultural stakeholders came together to create a cooperative structure that could pool resources, manage employment contracts centrally, and provide a reliable workforce for multiple farms.

Early Development

The initial phase of our association involved forming a network of local farms committed to cooperation. Farmers and workers shared a vision of stability, collaboration, and mutual support. Early members recognized the benefits of collective employment management, which included:

  • Simplifying hiring and payroll processes
  • Reducing administrative and legal burdens
  • Ensuring consistent and fair employment practices
  • Promoting solidarity within the agricultural community

This cooperative approach laid the foundation for a model that has proven effective and sustainable over time.

Growth and Expansion

As the association grew, we expanded the range of services offered to members, including workforce allocation, professional development, and training for employees. Farms increasingly relied on our association not only for labor solutions but also for guidance on best practices, regulatory compliance, and workforce management strategies.

Through consistent dedication to our members, we built a reputation for reliability, professionalism, and cooperation. Over time, Groupement d’Employeurs Le Nard became more than an employment association; it evolved into a vital partner for local agriculture and a model for cooperative workforce management in rural areas.
